Hi i think maybe it could be your "coolant engine tempreture sensor" or something under a similar name, if you still have hot air in the car but you tempreture gauge is reading cold, then i think it could possibly be that the wire has come off or the sensor is broken. hope this helps.

Is the heater blowing hot or cold ?
if its cold your thermostat could be stuck open, and the engine wont warm up

I have a 98 Bonneville, the heater/defroster is blowing out cold air. I drove around for 30 to 40 minutes checked the radiator and it was cold to the touch. could it be the thermostat

The dash gauges are notoriously inaccurate. But it is possible that the thermostat is stuck open. Does the upper radiator hose get hot after engine warmed up? Also feel both heater hoses-when engine is warm, both should be hot-indicating the coolant is circulating through the heater core. If heater hoses are hot, and you still have cold air, the temperature blend door on the heater case may not be operating.
Try a new thermostat and see if engine warms up faster and better.

The heater only blows hot are when the temperature gage hits exactly in the middle of the third line. When you stop and idle the hot air turns cold. It only blows hot air when you press the gas pedal. Is...

your heater isn't shot, but it might be clogged, in car the heater core is what proved heat to you in the car. The core is connected to the cooling system of the engin. over time it becomes clogged by the stuff that is in you coolant. a way to fix this yourself is to take off the two hose that go to it and using a air compressor and some water to blow it out, make sure the air is at a low psi. and then make sure to run water both ways through it. the heater core is just a small radiator. so to much force could break it, start going in the return hose to help get the debre out. Just be careful!

Heater not working it is blowing cold air at all times is there a

Heater blowing cold air until I get on the interstate, then it works; however, when I stop at lights it starts blowing cold air again. The temperature gauge will be in the middle but the car will still be cold until the car starts moving.
