There is a technical bulletin isssued by ford in reference to the firing order on the 5.0 motors. I do not remember what cylinders they are but if you place certain wires running from certain cylinders they will arc and it is unpreventable. Try routing your wires a little different or taking the vehicle to ford, they should be aware of this issue.

My 96 bronco 5.8 stumbles on acceleration.

Did it spark well on all the plugs? Usually if you have no change in idle with two wires removed it needs a new set of spark plug wires. If it was cylinder 2 & 3 (side by side) then you should suspect a head gasket. Does the Bronco have multiple coils or a coil pack with multiple inputs? Are these two plugs hooked up to one coil?

What is the firing order for a 1984 ford bronco 2

1-4-2-5-3-6
Now you need to know which cylinder is which. If you stand at the front of the truck looking at the engine, the number 1 cylinder is on the left closest to you. The left bank has cylinders 1-3-5 and the right bank has 2-4-6. So number 1 is at the left front and number 6 is at the right rear.

My alternator is burning up on a 2.9 6 cyl, literaly smoking, it is a 75 amp alternator, could i have a short that would cause this, or could i be using an alternator with to many amps?

voltage regulator is not cutting in ,it is most likly an internal regulator but there is nothing you, personaly can do about it except not drive like that ,it needs the attention of an auto electrician quick smart.if you have to drive anydistance remove the alt belt.it may already be too late to save the alternator but at least that way you wont have a fire

Charging system

You Can Test An Alternator By Starting The Vehicle And Then Unhooking The Battery. If The Vehicle Stalls Then The Alternator Needs Replacement. A Second Battery Would Need A Source Of Charge So Unless You Want To Fork Out A Lot Of Money No.
