Car wont start

7/94 camry wont start . Blew 30 amp fuse lhf. main efi fuse . Nil spark ,nil injector pulse. Found wire in dist going to earth . How do i test the ignition coil ? The burnt wire looks like it belongs to a capacitor attached to coil positive terminal

Test light on neg with key on power at both sides of coil ???? next test light on bat plus put to coil neg and have somone turn car over if test light flashes and still no spark coil is bad if test light no flash ignighter is most likely bad the ignighter switches ground on your coil for spark

92 volvo 960 no injector pulse how to fix and no power to the fuse block for 30 & 31 fuses for fuel system


check your PGMFI (Fuel Injection Main Relay) if it's good then check the Fuel Pump for power with a probe tester. what do fuses 30 & 31 operate? maybe there is a short and maybe it has to do with those 2 fuse lines working against each other or maybe they are bumping heads with the injectors electrical wiring. my first advice is to check the fuel injection main relay and the fuel pump first.

I have a problem with the 15 amp efi fuse blowing on my 2001 toyota camry. As well as the 15 amp gauge fuse blowing


if there is no shorts, rig a amp meter in series in place of the fuse, if it reads around twelve or more amps some thing else may be wired into the circuit , if the reading is very high there may be a short to earth some ware.

No pulse to the injectors


You should be getting constant power at all times with the ignition switch on. The black wire at all injectors are your power wires. Check both sides for power as the left side and right side have a seperate power source, The ground pulse comes from the engine control module (ECM). Check to make sure you are not getting that Gound pulse at EVERY injector. The ground pulse on the right side will be on the dark green wire at the injector and the dark blue wire on the left side. The bad news is the last couple of times I had this situation it ended up being the ECM but there are several tests in order to diagnose that first so just don't go out and buy one because I said that. The first thing you will want to check is the ECM fuse in the main fuse panel located inside the vehicle on the right side. Below is a picture of the fuse layout. I marked the fuse you will want to check. It is only a 3 amp fuse but a very important one. The second thing is to check your main ground for the ECM for that circuit. Below is another picture and I have marked the location of the ground you need to check and maybe clean as well. The wire for that circuit will be a black and white wire. There are still a few things to check but this is where I would start. This is an odd question but you haven't recently disabled there air bags have you ? Part of the airbag system helps in the power source to the injectors. 1997 5.7ltr gm truck...wont start. Replaced fuel pump, and relay. Has a carbon build up in the throttle body. Turns over/wont start


check for spark if there is no fuel coming out of injectors you can borrow noid lights from orielies auto parts check the injectors for pulse width if you have no pulse your computer is bad if vyou have no spark remove dist ributer cap and see if rotor turns while cranking if it does check for spark between coil and dist if no spark you more then likely have a bad ignition module

Will crank and run fine when engine is cold go for drive come back wont start, new battery1 will turn over just like no fire is getting through1


could be a number of possible faults.1/crank sensor not working when hot,trace this and pour cold water on it(dont do this if it is not by crank pulley as water isnt good for modules etc) and retry.2/sparkplugs worn,but usually they would fault more on cold start.3/fuel pump cuts out when run,try wacking tank from underneath and retry.though I would concentrate on nil spark caused by a faulty ignition module or crank sensor.
Next time it fails to start.pull off a sparkplug lead,make a quick test plug with an old(but working)sparkplug.pull the side wire away from the center electrode 5mm and insert into plug lead.earth ground the plug on its thread against metal on the engine.crank and check for spark visually,don't be tempted to hold the plug while cranking.if nil spark we will have to test further which is faulty sensor.if it sparks ok we will need to test for fuel.
testing for fuel is easy.
when it fails,unclip air filter housing,while engine is being cranked,spray an aerosol based carburettor cleaner into air duct to engine,it should start and run while spraying and stop when you stop spraying if fuel delivery is the fault.fuel pump will then need testing/replacing.
be careful not to spray onto ignition or any areas of spark

No gas coming out the injector and there is gas pressure to the injector?


Is there an injector pulse going to the injector?(an electrical pulse to fire the injector).
Is there spark at the plugs?
If the pickup in the dist is faulty you won't have either one.
If your vehicle uses a crank pickup with or instead of dist pick up....if it is defective ....no pulse.
The above is 90% cause of no pulse....other is computer problem 10%.
If you do have a injector pulse and no spray.....and have fuel pressure....change the injector.
A quick check for spark is spray a little starting fluid in it.....if it starts on the fluid....spark is present.

1990 K5 Blazer DIED(Electrical?)?


There may be no injector pulse if the computor does not see a RPM signal.
There will be no spark if the ignition module does not see a dist pulse from the dist pickup.......a RPM signal.
Because you do not have both ......I would suggest to check/change the dist pick up.
Follow the wires from the ignition module inside the dist to the pickup which is also inside the dist.
If it is just a bad dist pickup....keep all your old parts as good spares.
Also...is the dist turning? to provide a RPM signal?
You will have to remove the dist to change the pick-up.....mark your timing locations......"rotor position" and "dist body location"before removal.
A quick test before installing the "repaired dist" .....plug it in the the truck wiring and turn on the key....DO NOT CRANK THE ENGINE OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR DIST ROTOR CORRECT POSITION......as you spin the dist by hand .....the injectors should spray.
