Are you talking about your coolant thermostat? if so follow the upper radiator hose down to where it connect to the engine, remove the bolts on the peice the radiator hose is clamped to, remove old thermostat and clean gasket surfaces. Put on new gasket and new thermostat and replace bolts. then top the coolant back off, I failed to mention at the start you should drain the radiator of about a gallon of coolaqnt before you start so it won't go everywhere when you take the bolts out. Merry Christmas!

A thermostat that is stuck open will cause that. Drain the coolant and change thermostats.

Coolant leak

i think you got a head gasket leak,,,if its buring coolant the only thing that will burn it is a leaking head gasket,,its probably leaking into the cylinder and burning it and leaking externally where you see coolant on the tranny,,,replace the head gasket,,,

Fan kicks on but still overheating

hI, i recommend checking the level of coolant first. make sure your coolant level is sufficient. if the coolant level is good, you will need to inspect the thermostat at this time. make sue the thermostat is working properly. replace if needed.

Also, do a leak test on the hoses and water pump as well. turn the heater on to male sure the heater core is not clogged or damaged.

Just follow the Upper Radiator Hose to the Block. The Hose will attach to a Bell housing on the Manifold. Remove this Bellhousing and the Hose. The Thermostat is Right underneath the Bell Housing. Reinstall the Same way that the Old one is sitting when you find it or it will not work Properly.

Cant find thermostat on 2000 kia sephia.

Try tracing out the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine. The end that it is connected to on the engine is usually the thermostat housing.
