Air ride compressor not working needs replacing

How do I access the compressor? From the outside in the wheelwell or from the inside. I bought the Haynes Manual And it doesn't even mention the compessor.

dgjtex, do you need just a plain scanner tool, or one of those $3500 Tech 2 tools? I don't know if my compressor is broken or not, but I remember it kicking on when I first bought the car, and have not heard it run for a while now! Thanks for the link for a service manual. I have a 2003 Yukon Denali, but I'm sure all these autoride systems are pretty similar.

Sir, got to alldatadiy.com, and buy your vehicles service manual, It will give you step by step directions on troubleshooting you suspension and replacing parts. 20.00 is a cheap price for factory manuals, I use them almost daily in my business! Haynes is just an aftermarket repair manual and lacks in many areas. You really need a scanner to check your system before replacing anything. There are several reasons the motor might not run. Fuse, leveler switch, and bad door or gate switch a bad relay, a leak in the air system will eventually burn your new motor up if you don't fix it first. I hope this helps you. Alldata, will walk you through any system on your car if you have the equipment to follow their directions, a code scanner is a must, you can read your airsuspension, airbag system, engine system, airconditioning system and transmission computer and more, this is crucial to make a proper repair on just about any system, without it you will replace parts that may not be bad.

Merry Christmas! Hope this helps you!

Air ride suspention won'twork

If the car is riding lower than usual, making abnormal sounds, and its compressor won't start, it indicates the replacement of air suspension compressor.Accordingly, if the compressor has failed, there is usually an air leak somewhere in the air ride suspension that needs to be found and fixed before a new compressor is installed.

The air compressor is what provides the air suspension system with compressed air required for it to function. If you suspect that there is a problem, you should have proper vehicle suspension inspection by a professional technicians such as Eurobahn BMW MINI Mercedes-Benz Audi. They can determine if the vehicle needs an air suspension compressor replacement or repair.

Can not get the new air ride compressor to come on

Make sure the trunk switch is turned on. Your doorjam and trunk switches are wired into the Air-ride. They must sense the openings are closed before the lift compressor will work.

There are level controls for height. If the car was put on a lift without the switch being turned off, the positioner may be stretched beyond working.

1992 CROWN VICTORIA LX I REPLACED FUSES INSIDE AND UNDER HOOD FOR AIR RIDE SUSPENSION AND IT STILL WON'T AIR UP. PLEASE HELP

Air ride suspension basically works like this. you have a small air compressor and a sensor that connects between the rear axle and the under body Frame. When this sensor detects a load movement like more or less weight it turns on the air compressor to air up or opens a exhaust valve to let air out. most common problems with this system. broken or disconnected sensor. leak in the air lines between compressor and shocks. or a bad or weak compressor.

My father inlaw has a 2000 Lincoln Navigator 4X4 an the air ride suspension is not working any suggestion where to start

Yes, under the right front wheelwell there is a Relay for the Compressor. It is lower than the compressor but in the wheelwell. Check it for corrosion or it just may be burnt out.

If you want a quick fix, the system does have a Diagnostic plug but usually only the Dealer has the machine to test it. The nachine only works on Ford products and some Independent shops will not buy a machine that does not do all the cars.

I understand American suspension.com has parts for this. You can check with other Parts stores.

There is an off/on switch in the drivers side rear cargo panel. If you recently had it jacked up, the Mechanic may have forgotten to turn it back on.

Air feels cool, but not blowing enought air

I worked at a Dodge dealership for a while and 9 out of 10 times this is due to the recirculation door being broken, allowing hot air from outside to enter the cab of the truck. The dashboard will need to be removed to access the area.
