Question about 1997 Isuzu Rodeo

96 Isuzu Rodeo electrical problems (Car wont start)

I checked all the fuses and they're ok, the battery is good. Apparently there was a short circuit somewhere and burned the 100A fuse, I replaced it and it gave me interior lights and control on power windows but when I tried to star the car nothing happened, the switch can be placed at the "ON" position, the dashboard will light like normally would when you're going to start the car, but when you go to the start position nothing happens, the "RrABS" light comes up for a few seconds and it turns off, but no starter noise no engine movement, nothing-nada-zip!!, I know that is an electrical issue, like I said, I checked all the fuses, inside the car and the ones next to the engine and they look ok. Another thing that I noticed is that the radio is not turning on even at the "ON" position. I tried to remove the security fuses if by any chance was the alarm or something, but nothing. I think that the alternator is going bad also, I don't know if that was the main problem, like a severe short or something. I'll apreciate any help.

My car won't start but all lights are good,I'm thinking it's the starter but a friend who happens to be a mechanic mentioned a fuse that's the main fuse to start the engine..

It has to be an electrical connection as you say. The Anti Lock Brake system light is probably just a deprograming of the computer. Due to the electrical problem. Have you check for current at the starter ? Have sombody turn the key as if starting it. Then with a test light check for current at the starter connections. This will give you an idea whre to look for an open circuit or short.

My 2000 crown Victoria keeps popping my dashbord light fuse!!!

If the fuse keeps blowing, you have a short circuit to a ground somewhere. The fuse protects the wiring from burning up. They, tool companies, make a short tester that takes the place of the fuse and buzzes when the short is present and stops buzzing when you move or locate the wire that is "shorted". Repair the wire that is touching a ground an the harness somewhere and then replace the fuse. Good luck, could be obvious like a coin stuck in the cigarette lighter or just some wiring someone has done recently.

2004 chevrolet classic 2.2l won't start, maybe have a short circuit on positive wire, circuit, because make nothing no radio no lights inside and outside I check battery is ok fuses is ok, looks st

If you have positive battery cable that is shorted, fix it. A dead short to ground should smoke it or get very hot. Check ground, also.
Use a test lite, ignition bat fuse 1 and 2, underhood fuse block, Should be hot all the time. Voltage and ground, both, are important.

Window, interior lights, car alarm and fuse keep on burning out

you have a short circuit or burned out wires somewhere, could be anywhere.
Try disconnecting the alarm, taking the bulb out of the interior lights, and putting in the fuse, if it blows again you know that the alarm or interior lights are not at fault, if it stays good replace the bulb and if it blows theres your faulty circuit, if it stays good then the windows are at fault.

1988 cherokee wipers, radio, heater blower just went like that could it be ignition switch problem? thanks much

Yes it could be but more likely its one of the main fuses for the ignition. If the charging and oil light's come on when its switched on then the ignition switch should be ok

Last week our Expedition would not start. I tracked it down to the 30 amp starter solenoid fuse. I replaced it and the Expedition started fine for a week. Now replacing the fuse does not work. It burns...

you need the schematic... you apparently have a short circuit to ground somewhere... If you are very careful... use a heavy gauge wire to jumper the circuit and whatch for smoke to isolate the short to ground.... be careful... you can really burn stuff up if you aren't paying attention...

I believe I shorted something from the alternator....

put a set of jumper cables on your battery, then quickly touch the 2 ends of the cables together, if there is a strong spark, then your battery is ok, if there is a very weak, or no spark, then you have shorted out the battery,, then, if battery ok, look for a small black box ,near the battery , it has a large fuse inside, you may have blown this......if everything is ok, then you have shorted out your alternator
