Codes, & Scanner.

No I do not have a scanner. I took my car to a smog check station a pre-check was don on the car and I was told that there was no point on doing a full check since the tech saw that it would not pass it. All I saw was that the CO & O2 was below 0.08, but at iddle the HCL whent up to 160 ppm and was told that it should be below 100 I think he said at about 99 or below.

It is running too lean, there is a aluminium cap on the side of the airflow meter, drill a hole in it, pop it out, insert the right allen wrench, turn clockwise to richen it up at idle just a little bit.

GMC Jimmy wont power smog device to run smog check - blown fuse?

What they are talking about is the scanner to read codes in the computer.
The scanner connects to a port under the steering column.
I think the power comes from the cig lighter circuit.
You may have to check your owners manual to find out which fuse is for the lighter.

2006 hyundai elantra obd won't communicate with smog check station

Just to clear things up, having the monitors ready has nothing do to with OBD Communications. Ready or not, it will communicate. The original issue here was a station with a bad scanner. she did the right thing trying somewhere else and following up to get her $ back.

2002 chrysler voyager check engine light came on took van to dealership they told us it was the hoses. We bought brand new hoses all three and changed them. The light wont go off it still says that the...

On these vans the light will stay on untill it is reset. You need a OBD 2 scanner to reset it. You can take it to the dealer and have them do it but they will probably charge you like $130. The best thing for you to do is check with an auto parts store. They normally have a scanner on hand and will turn it off for you free of charge. Advance and Autozone I know pretty much have a scanner at every store.

Need list of fault codes for deawoo lanos 1999

Not a solution: This is my problem...
I needed to get my car smogged, but the check engine light was on. Took to to a local smog station that had replaced a sensor for me in the past in order to pass smog. They could not fix it. Put car in dealership garage for repairs and to date, the transmission module sensor (computer) went out and the ignition sensor was out also. The mechanic replaced both and now the code P1702 comes up. What does that code mean? My car still won't pass smog....
