Since you have a cherry red catalyst surely you have a clogged cat and if you do emission test surely is going to indicate the catalyst. now if the one of the cylinder heads is running rich just confirm whether you have any injector with a malfunction and instead spraying the fuel is pouring the fuel and cause fuel to go through exhaust not burnt and possible that is the reason which damaged the cat.

SOURCE: starter replacement on acura 2000 TL 3.2

This starter can be changed without disassembling the top of the engine on the 2.5 with automatic transmission. You will need a 10mm, 14 mm, 17mm, and a 9mm wrench. First with any electrical repair disconnect the battery at the negative terminal. The starter is on the driver's side close to the firewall below the intake manifold. Remove the transmission dip stick so you don't ruin it, then look and study the starter itself. You will notice the starter drive housing with a top and bottom bolt. The top bolt is a 14mm and the bottom a 17mm, loosen both a half turn. Remove the top 14mm bolt first, then the bottom 17mm, this will allow you to pull the starter out of the bell housing. With some angling and no brackets holding the back of the starter you should be able to pull it out enough to disconnect the positive wire and 9mm nut from the soleniod. Disconnect the starter ignition small wire by pulling it off it's connector. Now just pull it out of the engine and fender void and you've got it, saving about a hundred and fifty dollars of labor. Take it to the parts house and match it up with a well made remanufactured or new starter. Reverse the proceedure, hook up the battery.

What is the location of bank 1 sensor 2 oxygen sensor on 1996 acura 3.2 tl v6 upstream or downstream?

sensor 2 is always downstream of the Cat.

Which 02 sensor is bank 1 sensor 2? Bank 1 Sensor 1 is the first sensor closest to the engine. On Bank 1 means it is at the engine side with cylinders 1, 3, 5, 7, etc. Bank 1 Sensor 2 is the second sensor on the engine's exhaust pipe, usually behind the catalytic converter.

Where oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1 is located for a Acura TL 2006?

where, as ON Car?
you forgot to post engine option, so nobody can anwer easy
but Sensor 1 is the sensor ,closest to cylinder 1.
Bank 1 is the bank closes to cylinder 1.
on I4 engines Cyl #1 is closest to the cam, and crank pulleys.
on V6 /V8 Cylinder 1 is that bank that is most forward.
on V egines, on bank sits forward, one rear.
if you told engine , size and displacement, this be snap.
or look it up on alldata.com
or google your real engine type.
guessing, USA>....???

so on this V6 , bank 1 is rear, right. see? it above?
and B1S 1 is rear bank, sensor top. sensor closest to engine head.
sensor 2 is always behind CAT, in fact its the CAT monitor sensor.

at a 100k mile replace both V6, top sensors. for max MPG.
they dont last 300k like engines,.
the rear is leave for smog man kicks in behind, only. p420x...

Who do i find the location of coilpack number 1and3 on my engine

Coils #I and #3 are the coils for engine cylinders 1 and 3, so 1 and 3 are the rear bank of cylinders that are closest to the firewall. Below is a diagram of the cylinder layout.

When I park my 2000 acura tl it has a strong odor of gasoline in the garage. it is hard to start and the fuel economy has gotten bad.

more than likely cause for this is a gas leak more than likely one the metal lines under the car has gotten rusty and started to leak
another possibility is a injector is leaking or pressure regulator is bad and it dumping to much fuel into motor but this will usually trigger a engine light (code would be a o2 sensor or bank 1 to rich or bank 2 to rich) also might also have black smoke coming out exhaust
So if u dont have any engine codes more than likely cause is a fuel line leaking

My 2002 Acura TL brings black smoke from the exhaust. I need help.

black smoke is from engine oil loss through the head cylinder or piston rings

1996 acura 3.2tl replaced hose on back of engine replaced thermostat, replaced radiator, still running hot might run fine for week then run hot brown gunk in radiator.need help.thanks

Brown gunk is either oil from a blown head gasket or 'stop-leak'. The head gasket is expensive to fix.

If you have over 150,000 miles probably cheaper to replace the car if the head gasket is bad.
