Cant find mounting bolts to 1999 buick lesabre starter

the mounting bolts are at the rear of the starter and go upwards through the starter into the engine block.when looking at the starter solenoid were the wires are connected to the starter follow it towards the rear away from the wires towards the transmission.this is were you will find the mounting bolts at the bottom of the starter(closest to the ground).they are 9/16(15mm) bolt heads.

Plastic in the way of 96 LeSabre's starter mounting bolts.

The plastic parts are sheilds which are snapped together with push pin retainers. If any are broken they can be purchased at auto parts stores or the Buick Dealer

98 buick lesabre starter

The starter is on the front of the engine, towards the transmission.
There are only two bolts and two nuts that hold it in.

The nuts hold two wires to the starter, one is connected to the positive battery terminal, the other is to engage the starter solenoid.

First disconnect the positive main wire at the battery.
Then, remove the large and small nuts holding both wires onto the starter. Be careful, since the large nut is copper and easy to strip.

There is a black plastic cover that goes behind the starter between the engine and transmission and may interfere with removal. There are three screws that hold it on. There are two that are easily seen on the larger portion, and one hidden very near to the front of the starter. It might be hard to see without a flashlight.

After removing the plastic cover, you should be able to loosen and remove the two large bolts holding the starter in.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions post again!

I have a 1994 buick lesabre that keep stalling out

I had the same problem with my 1994 Buick LeSabre. It turned out to be the idler solenoid that is mounted on the top of the engine where the fuel injector is located. The solenoid cost around $80.00 to replace it. I hope this helps you.
