1999 jeep cherokee power windows

My passenger side window, as well as both back windows will not go up/down using their own switches. They will only go up/down using the driver side controls. Is this a fuse issue, or is it something involving wiring?

Usually it is a wiring issue i would start by checking the wires that run between the door and body of the vehicle. they always break inside that black rubber boot. and the way jeep wires the doors, everything goes though the drivers door switch even the power that feeds the other doors

I know this may sound rediculous and i am not insulting you i only ask because i have done this myself. Did you check and be sure the child safety switch isn't on?

Rear power window passenger side went down but wont' come back up. it happened once before but then started working again on its own.

Hi,

These are the possible problem in that window malfunction:
  • Check the wiring harness for that window.
  • The main switch is malfunctioning. That's the only window that rarely use.
  • The motor needs some lubrication and it sometimes works and sometimes freezes up.
  • Gear of the power motor is rusted and some gear teeth are worn out.

Hope that helps you out!

Power window systems failing in past few months. 3 of 4 now dead.

before spending alot of money on windows motors, try to take out the switch in the door handle and spray contact cleaner in the switch.. sometimes if you use alot of armor all on the door panels it will work its way into the switch and make it dirty.

Right window will not roll down..

Did you meter the wire at the master switch? If so and you have power the switch is bad, if not you have a short in the wire.

Check the wiring between the drivers door and the A pillar(the body of the car). Sometimes the harness breaks from opening and closing the door.

When you open the drivers door you can see a wiring harness between the door and the body of the car.
You more than likely have wires broken in there.
