Gas tank has rusted wires coming out of it

Pretty sure the tank is leaking gas, and there's wires coming out. is there a solution to plug up the hole or do you just have to drop the gas tank? If you do have to drop the tank, how much would that cost on average?

I have a 1995 Toyota corolla and I recently noticed I had a gas leak I sealed the hole with JBL epoxy to hold me over until my new tank arrives but it looks as if there is oil mixed in with the gas .

Keep checking the oil level and the transmission fluid level to make sure they stay full, but there should be no oil in the gas tank.
There may be water, however, and it may be brown like oil.
Water will sit in the bottom of the tank and make rust underneath the gasoline, since gasoline floats on water.

Why is gas leaking from the metal elbow that leads to the cap on top of fuel tank?

It has rusted threw. Replace the filler tube or use silicone to plug the hole. Not to much though, you don't want to plug that line. It is a vent.

Finding fuel leak options with very little fuel in tank, leaks with addition of $5 worth of fuel?

Surely you can see the fuel on the outside of the
fuel tank or a rusted fuel tube under it

You should be able to find that issue in 10 minutes
IF you get under it

That is only 2 gallons added at a time

Wouldn't you think the fuel tank is the issue,if
it leaks without the motor running

Now you also know we can not guess from here

Most likely an EVAP code. Need to scan it to get the specifics.

look at the EGR valve.it should move freely..listen for hissing sound of an air leak, from the intake manifold...with that kind of mileage,it is likely .check the wiring on all the sensors, the map ,air flow, coolant temp, and the idle air speed controller on the throttle body.

Gas Leaking

There is likely a rust hole, or puncture in the neck of the gas tank (the pipe leading from the tank to the gas nozzle). When you are filling the tank the gas runs through the pipe and leaks out of the neck. when you are done filling, all the gas is in the tank, and not high enough to come out of the hole. You can probably pull the cover off the inside of the wheel well, and see the leak. if your lucky, you will be able to patch the hole.

1988 Toyota XTRACAB SR5 engine starts but stops immediatley

I have not fixed the problem yet but I did install a new fuel filter and also ran the engine on starting fluid while another person turned the ignition key for me. Now I am pretty sure I have a fuel delivery problem. I will disconnect the line from the fuel tank and see if fuel comes out when I turn the key on.

When i fill up the gas tank the alot of gas comes out the bottom onto the ground

You probably have a leak in the fill tube that goes from the gas cap nozzle (where you fill the gas) down to the tank. If you get under the car, or look up through the wheel well (you might have to remove the liner in the well), you should be able to see the fill tube. If it's old, cracked, worn, broken, or has a hole in it, that'd do it for sure. That's my bet anyhow - either a leaking tube due to damage/rust, or if it's a two-piece design, a clamp that has failed and isn't sealing the two halves together.
