Need to replace the speedometer cable on a 2003 Yokon XL Denali
I took the SUV to the frozen North Country of New York this past weekend. Sub zero low temps at night. Could the cable have frozen? It is stuck reading out above 120 MPH. It will go back to about 80 MPH and the needle goes beyond 120 MPH.

Disconnect battery for about 10 min. both pos. & neg. post - but before you do that remember sec.code for radio -- then reconnect both post and drive the suv around for about 20 min. to let ECM time to reprogram itself
I just repaired this problem this past weekend. It is the Emission Control Solenoid. It is located next to the fuel tank. The cost of the part is about $30.00 from the dealer. It has one electrical connection and one hose attached. The total repair, including jacking the truck up was about 20 minutes.
overheating can be caused by stuck shut t-stat but u would have heat at-stat stuck open no overheating and no heat. a waterpump that the impeller broke or rotted of can cause your problem but rarly seen does your fan work or any leakage or low coolant can cause air pocket and overheating no heat. let me know and we go foward
I recently had a low engine power on my 2003 Denali. The check engine light came on and I couldn't go above 40 mph. I took it in the next morning but by this time the check engine light had gone off. The mechanic had just recently seen the same problem in another Denali in which they changed the battery and had no problems since. I also decided to have them change out my battery and I have not had the problem since either. I would stay away from the dealership if I were you, and always get a second opinion. Most smaller shops wont charge for a diagnostic where the dealership will charge at least 80 just to tell you what might be wrong and that will only work if you have a warning light on at the time.
I had problems with my remote button, with battery fully charged turn on key for ten second, turn key off un-hook positve side of battery, re conect turn key to on postion then try to start, it worked for me I have a 2003 denali yukon XL, the motor would fire then stop.
the 171 means that you are running to lean on either air or fuel. Do you have any upgrades to the fuel or air system? 131 is the first oxygen sensor on your vehicle and that is typically right past the headers.
I had the same problem with my 2004 yukon. It seems all the gauges in the insturment cluster are known to go bad from 2003-2006 in GMC and Chevys. The deaerships are trying to sell you a new instrument cluster which is pretty costly if your warrenty is up. I repaired the circuit board on my insturment cluster myself and everything is working fine now. Since hearing abouth this problem I have started repairing the insturment cluster as a side business. If your vehicle is out of warrenty and your intersted shoot me an e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org).
