You need to remove the glove box disconect the heater hoses look behind the glove box some heater boxes are two pieces and you can remove the heater half some you need to remove the whole piece if that is the case let a garage do it because they need to disconect the a/c so it needs to be evacuated and recharged if it is a two piece box just remove the bolts that hold the heater core under the dash and pull the box strait back good luck

Heater not working from my 97 GMC jimmy. Change

Do you feel heat on both heater core hoses? If not then it might have a blocked heater core, low coolant level, defective heater control valve or a blend door issue.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Some vehicles from that era used vacuum pressure to control heating/cooling baffles. If you have a bad vacuum leak, then the baffle will never swap over from vent/cooling to heating.

If you can remove it by the bottom without damaging anything then that is the way to go. Lots of repair manuals will show you how to do a repair even when there is an easier way. They show the way that is recommended by manufactures.

How to replace a heater core in a 1994 chevy 1500

As with all vehicles it seems the first part that they build around is the heater core. It is under the dash above the floor housed in a black plastic sealed box. Sealed with goop. Locate that box and start removing everything around it that is peventing taking the cover off. Of course disconnect the heater hoses under the hood a thefirewall.

Warning it is never as easy as it sounds.

NO HEAT

Your heating system is run by your cooling system. If your cooliant is low then you are not going to get adiquiate heat disapation to your heater core. So check the entire cooling systerm. Your water pump (low flow), hoses (leakage), you already checked the thermostat & heater core. So other than that I don't know.
