2004 kia rio high and low beams not working. Fuse keeps blowing. Can't isolate a problem.

have you examined all of your headlight bulb sockets for any heat/fire damage? even if not, pull the bulbs, and use an appropriate headlight socket insulating grease to reduce temps and avoid corrosion.

when headlight bulbs are changed, it is suggested to use a socket grease insulator to seal them from humidity/corrosion AND to lower socket temps. without this grease, the headlight sockets could possibly catch fire and/or melt, and, if the exposed wiring then shorts, it would blow a fuse.

1985 Cutlass Supreme Brougham...clock and radio fuse keeps blowing not long after being replaced. Thanks in advance for your help.

I would suspect that either the radio or the clock has become defective. I suggest unplugging the radio first and see if the symptoms change. If the fuse blows then unplug the clock and see if the symptoms change, does the fuse still blow? Hopefully you are able to narrow your search down to one of those two devices but if not then unfortunately, the 12volt wire, traveling from the fuse to the two parts, has shorted to ground. I hope this helps you. Please let me know how the repair is going, good luck.

Fuse f23 keeps blowing, removed all lights on circuit still blows . Also disconnected power antenna and trunk release solenoid no change. When turning on headlights gauge lighting and radio lights inop....

if you are still blowing fuses with nothing connected in the circuit you have a dead short-a pinched or grounded wire-look at the wiring going into the deck lid-you might call this the boot-the other stuff may be happening because the computor can't understand whats happening with the short going on-its confused-cheers Denny

Headlight keeps blowing

use the process of elimination, disconnect both headlights at the bulb and put another fuse in it and see if it blows. if the fuse blows without the headlights plugged in then its the wiring to the bulbs. if the fuse doesn't blow while the headlights aren't plugged in try plugging the lights in one at a time to see which headlight or socket is shorted. possibly corrosion at body to ground connections near the headlights, you may not see the corrosion, remove the ground wires and sand those ground wires down..

Fuse keeps blowing to my dash guages in my 95 gmc sierra why?

have you recently installed a new radio ? I have knowen people to install radiosincorectly the dim wire behind the radio shows as a earth. however when you turn headlights on this becomes a positive. if you have wired this wire to your sterio this is whyyour dash lights & internal cab light etc keep blowing.. if your wondering why sterio still works is because its earthed through the aerial or mounting bolts.

2003 impala keeps blowing rear parking lamp fuse

Same issue also when the fuse blows i looks my electric seat controls. I found the problem was underneath the hood underneath both the fuse boxes it was a power wire pinched under a plate that holds the fuse boxes on. This wire probably wore through after 140,000 miles of rubbing and being pinched. tell me if it works for you

I have a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited i have brake lights that work when i apply brakes, but as as soon as i turn my headlights on the fuse blows and i have no working tailights with the headlights on. ...

There is definitely a short in the park lights system. Did you just have a radio installed....since the illumination wire sometimes gets grounded and will cause that fuse to blow until you fix that wire.

I have no headlights . Fuse no 67 keeps blowing ( Battery back up sounder , transit relay , hid/dip relay , brake vacuum control

Getting the obvious out of the way like ; you are fitting the correct rated fuse? and I have assumed that the car is standard and you haven't fitted higher power headlights etc

It sounds like a short circuit, and could be caused by a chafed or damaged wire, if it blows when you do something in particular (like select Hi beam) then start looking in that area.

All you can do is try each item in turn until you discover the culprit then look in that area. Failing that inspect each of the areas associated with the fuse for the possible cause, take care to look inside the headlamps (a lot of heat in here can damage cables).

Finally if all else fails start disconnecting the devices where possible one at a time until it stops happening (takes out a lot of fuses) start with the battery back up sounder located behind the front fog lamp LHS I think, these are a common failure point.

It sounds like you already have the info you need but If you don't a list of fuse feeds can be found on

Hope this helps
