I have had this problem several times now. I have a 2002 F-150 4.6L. Shop just called me and told me what the code scanner said. 2 Coil paks out. I have replaced all coil paks 5 times now. Water seems to be the culpurt, there is a problem with water getting under the hood. Make sure all your cowl drains are open. Also I have tried to invest in a code scanner as well, with no luck. The lower to mid end scanners will not read my truck for some reason. I bought a $500.00 scanner the night before last it would not work on my truck and that is why it had to once again go to the shop.

I had the same problem twice now. It turned out to be water pooling on cylinder #6 which in turn was causing a missfire. It only seemed to happen at higher speeds and low RPM. If you are getting a check engine signal, have a shop throw the diagnostic cpu on it to tell you where the error is or look under your hood at at your plug boots.

If you have the abilty to install a scanner, go to the pid section of that scanner and look for miss fire counts it may show some history. if you do not have a scanner the problem sound like one of the coil boots have failed. if you have more than 70.000 miles tune it up replace the plugs the coil boots and the coil boot springs. good luck

Clutch when disengaged pulsates an sometimes does it a low rpm

This is caused by the pressure. There are tongs that are on it in a circle. They are spring loaded. When one or some are weak or a spring has broken you will get a pulsating feeling in the pedal

What should the RPM's be @ 60MPH on a 2001

The RPM is a display indicator of vehicle performance in relation to fast moving capabilities.
A vehicle that requires so much RPM has functions explanable

1. multi purpose vehicles like sports utility require more RPM considering the functionality in relation to performance. for example, a sports utility vehicle requiring tow capabilities would be greatly reduced without high RPM considering that builting an engine and structure so rigid would be disproportionate with RPM. The sports utility vehicle for example has multi purposes requiring features the contribute towards achiev ing each additional functionity. The RPM provides the appropaie measure of propertionality in the functionality and especially for an operational guideline.

2. 60 RPM has been the standard for several vehicles of similar capacity and would be drastic measure to increase without any additional vehicle upgrades to complement the entire functionity of vehicle.

Where is the voltage regulator on a 99 mercury cougar?

The voltage regulator is a part of the alternator. If you are having pulsating issues then look for grounding issues like a corrided eyelet or loose grounding bolts.

Fuel preasure control fault code P1112 on a 2001 Ford Taurus LX. Idle goes up to 2,000 RPM. When the car is in drive the car goes to almost 4,000 RPM with out touching the pedel.

Have a fuel pressure test done on it to find the problem.
If the pressure is low, the fuel pump is weak
If it's high, the fuel pressure regulator is faulty.

No heat in 99 ford windstar

Check the coolant level. If it's low, what you describe will happen. There is not sufficient coolant to flow through the heater core at idle. At 60mph the water pump is spinning quickly, managing to get some coolant through the heater core, so you get heat until the rpm's drop at idle. If it is due to low level, keep an eye on it to see if it drops again, as you may have a leak.

Rough idle and engine will shut off after warm.

Check the exhaust manifold gasket. I have a 2003 SVT Focus I had a problem with it loping at low RPMs. I had a free flow exhaust system. When I bought a new exhaust manifold I replaced the gasket and the problem went away.

with a 2002 Concord 3.5 V-6, what should the rpm be at 60mph? 70 mph?

I'm not sure if the overdrive gear is lost in the tranny, but the transmission light is on.

Thanks
