Question about Hyundai Motor 2003 Elantra

Heater control switch

On my 2003 hundia elantra the heater will only put out heat on the high setting. need to know how to change control.

To replace the control module, you'll need to remove the front dash facia panel to access the virtical console modules. Four (4) phillips head screws must be removed to pop out the this panel.

def318e.jpg The facia has several 'clips' which pop loose when you pry it out.

cba91a1.jpg As you can see, there are four (4) screws in the environment control module. Reassembly is in reverse order.

Code P0059 is set when heater current requirements are too low or high in the heated oxygen sensor heater control circuit for sensor 1 on bank 2. Check the wiring and connections for high resistance. You could also have a bad sensor.

Over heatng and no heat from heater


follow the hose to the engine. Proably need metric tools proably 13 to 19 mm. undo the clamp. slide the hose off. undo the bolts. to ck thermostat put in pan and bring to boil to see if it opens. if not then scrap off gasket install new gasket also red perma gasket install the gasket and bolt it back up. put the hose back on and top of anti freeze. Start car and run for 20 mins to allow to get up to running temp and check for leaks

Check your temp gauge. If it doesn't move you may want to change the thermostat. Also, if you put on the defrost and your windshield gets foggy you may need to replace your heater core.

It is probably the alternator. I have had alternator's that were bad test good. If the alternator is not fully charging the battery than you will continue to have the issue. I think it is best to go ahead and change the alternator.
