2001 Volvo V70 jerking when accelerating up hill from stop

I have only had the car about a month and have noticed this happen a few times. Then yesterday while in a traffic jam that involved a lot of starting and stopping on a hill, it jumped almost every time I gave it gas and didn't seem to be getting power to get going.

Hello
The engine and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

Front end shakes upon acceleration

when you accelerate the torque(twisting motion)is lifting the front of the car(hence wheelspin), taking the weight off the lower control arms(no weight = more movement)so when you coast, the full front end weight is on the front suspension = no shake....

2001 volvo V70 T5 Problems

Had this same problem with a 2001 v70. Dealer needed to download new software to the computer. Took about 20 minutes and solved the problem. (The problem happened at 10 degrees below zero and I went in to see if they could tell me where the fuses for those circuits were located.)

Unfortunately the sofware re-load was not cheap.

Noise

Some models have a vacuum pump that operates at times. I believe it is to help provide more vacuum for the power assist brakes.

Does it happen when you are stopped, and you depress the brake pedal a few times? Does it happen when the engine is cold, or warmed up?
