Smells like a mixture of gas and oil when I turn the blower on

Problem started approximately 1-1.5 months ago. about when the season started to change. Every time I would turn the blower on I smelled what seemed to me to be a mixture of gas and oil. A friend walked past my car after it had sat parked from a day or two and said he smelled gas. I checked but could not find a gas leak underneath the car. Is it possible that the connection betweent the throttle body and fuel line is bad?Smoke test done, the shop said I needed #4 injector replaced as it is not working proper causing fuel to be smelled outside the car & while driving???  How can a plugged up injector make the vehicle smell like gas inside the vehicle?

Hi there
It sounds like there maybe a crack around the engine block near to the main gasget, have you noticed a slight lack of power at all? have a look at the top of the engine where the top bolts to the main engine for cracks due to frost or freezing conditions

Merrry Christmas and kind regards

Yes an injector issue will cause a fuel smell, why? because most likely it is causing an overly rich condition in the cylinder, the excess fuel goes out the tail pipe, fuel vapor is heavy and stays near the ground, so u smell it, cold air makes this worse. Another issue can be the evaporative emissions fuel vapor storage canister, it is called the carbon canister, if it gets overloaded and the paper filter is plugged it can't be purged by the engine vacuum, this will cause a gas smell as well, another thing is gas is going into the oil due to cylinder wash down from to much fuel in the cylinder, this dilutes the oil with gas and gives a foul smell.

It was probably leaking fuel as well. this would not drip on ground but puddle up on engine and with them being at back of engine area close to you fresh air source it would pick up the fumes. are you still smelling fuel?

GAS IN ENGINE OIL

The engine is running way to rich, that would be the only reason for gas in the oil, things that cause a rich mixture are leaking fuel injectors or to much fuel pressure, have these checked by a shop, also do u have a check engine light?

When i start my car you smell gas ,and it smoke.

HTML clipboard If you can smell gas ONLY when the engine is running, then the gas didn't get burned completely. It could be the combination of the computer, oxygen sensors, and/or catalytic converter is going bad. If you could smell gas when it's parked, you might want to take it to a mechanic to have your gas line checked for leaks and for pressure test. Here's a website that talk a little about gas smell www.mycarsmellsbad.com good luck.

You need to have your engine flushed and cleaned out. One or more of your spark plugs aint firing. You need to replace them all to include the wires as well. If you dont get your engine flushed, you could blow your engine up.
