Question about 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

Rear brake lights not working, but bulbs are fine

I've got a 1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme where the rear brake lights do not work. The bulbs are fine, and the high brake light does work. The turn lights (which use the same bulbs as the brake lights) do work. Where should I check next. Any idea where the the cables back to the brake lights connects?

Hi! Have you checked the brake light switch? usually located at the top of the footbrake pedal, it is a plunger type and should have two wires going to it? if faulty try bridging the connection/wires for a test! have someone watching your lights to save jumping in and out of vehicle.
Merry Christmas!

So when I took my drivers side lights off in the back and laid them down and walked up and pressed the brakes, the brake light came on. SO, I pulled off the passenger side and laid them both where I could see them from the front and hit the brake pedal......NOTHING.....NO brake light. ALL other lights work but the brakes in those 2 banks. I tried what you said to try Paul but nothing happened. I'm not sure what I'm doing as there are 2 plunger type switches above my pedal and only one has the 2 wire setup. Well the lower bank has a 2 wire set that's separate from the cluster in the switch and I tried that too. Fuses are good. I'm at a loss.

also, the tail lights work so I know there is power going to the bulbs as they are the same bulbs.

Blinker lights on front and rear of 1995 olds cutlass supreme don't work. Emergency flashers work. Replaced the switch behind (to the left) the steering column and didn't resolve. Assuming it...

If all the bulbs are good, it could be the multi-stalk arm switch. Jiggle the arm all around, the switch could be dusty, or lightly corroded.

If all else fails pull all fuse's that you can't check when installed.

1989 olds cutlass supreme. None of the brake lights work. All other lights work. Fuses are good.

You probably have a bad brake light switch. This switch is located on the brake pedal arm or a bracket next to the arm. This switch activates the brake lights when the pedal is pushed. You can check this by turning on your turn signals or warning flasher if your light flash in the rear. Your bulbs are good so this will bring you back to the brake light switch.

No brake lights and abs light is on in the dash lights on a 1994 olds cutlass supreme...checked bulbs, fuses and changed the brake switch...none of that worked...all the other lights work fine...can not...

Change your turn signal switch in the steering column 99% sure that is your problem you can some times check by holding the brake pedal down and wiggling the the switch around and have someone watch to see if the come on
