Question about 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

Gauges in dash cuts in and out..Checked fuse #4 which is for the guages, and found no problem with the fuse..Any other suggestions PLEASE!!! I have a similar problem, thought I got it fixed yesturday. Bought a new actuator for the 4 wheel drive. Finally found where it was located. pulled the battery, installed the new actuator, but the problem wasn't solved. The old actuator had a good vacuum seal, so I installed the old one. Put the battery back in, Then tried the 4x4 and it engeged in 4 hi. that besides the mileage(that would flicker) was working. drove it around the block and it worked. then today went out, had 4 wheel high in and worked. Ran around town turned it off then needed it in going down this road. same problem again. The 4 hi would not engage and the mileage was all scrambled up. 4 low will lock and work, but not 4 high. Any solutions? Thanks Garrett.

As you say if the fuses are proper then, you should check the switch, try inter-changing it, if that doesnt work, you should check for burnt wires.

This is the problem with actuator as its not getting enough of pressure to shift to high and also check if there is leak in the seal of the actuator ,which is causing the truck to lockin low gear.....

Good luck..

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, if so equipped, check the connectors/wires going to the Body Control Module (BCM). The body control module often located either to the right of the accelerator pedal below the radio or under the dash, behind the glove box. Its function is akin the to the ECM. While the ECM monitors/controls the engine electronics/electrical, the BCM does the same for the electrical/electronics inside the car. If the connectors/wires checks good, then the most likely suspect is the BCM itself.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

2003 GMC Sierra. The gauges do not work. All the lights on the panel work, just not the gauges. Is there a relay switch that pertains to the cluster? I checked the ipc fuse but it showed it was good.

No relay for guages. try slapping on top of dash to see if they come back on. They are controlled by a fuse and the body control module.

My dash guages goes nuts when the cars is running. just sitting running if you turn on the left turn signal the car wiil die. how do i thank you

You have a wiring/short issue. I suggest you check the fuse box wires and wires around under-bonnet relays, then move onto wiring around the steering column and behind the dash displays. Remember to check earth wires too as any loose or broken will lead to power going to the gauges etc as it try's to reach ground. Check it or have it checked as it may case a fire.

2003 Kia Optima - Dashboard Lights not working.

if you have aftermarket lights hooked up to the dash light it has been known to smoke the rheostat that controls the dimmer. I would also check the other fuses, sometimes the cluster refers to the guages themselves and not the lights that illuminate them

The electrical part of the ignition switch is heading south. The switch is located on the inside of the lock and tumbler and has a wiring harness that follows the inner part of the steering column.

Will not start, no dash gauges light except "low gas level"

I have a '99 dodge dakota, 4 cyl, 5 speed manual. While researching a no start problem ran across possible solution to this problem. If no guage lights show when key truned to on position then normally a bad ignition switch. With fully charged battery and working ignition switch guage lights should slight up then go out when ignition in "on" position. Try shaking the key back and forth.

The gauges have stopped working ? Fuse under dash seems to be OK ?

Behind the dash is what they call a constant voltage regulator. It controls the guages. It's small and located behind the dash near speedo.
