Headlight problem and car starts sometimes

Your leak probably comes from the windscreen and drips down onto the floorboard.
Light problem:- Remove the light globes and clean the connections on the globe and on the fitting. You may have to bend the connections in the fitting to get better contact.
Starting:- The most probably cause is the ignition switch itself. To prove this connect a wire directly to the starter solenoid. Next time the car refuses to crank apply battery power directly to the wire. Be careful: if the car is in gear and you start it while standing outside it will go off by itself and could even run you over.

What causes hard running when going slow

There are a few things that would cause this, bad sparkplug wires or dist cap. a coomon problem with these trucks is leaking fuel inside the intake, this is caused by the lines coming into intake to feed the siper injection system or the fuel preasure regulator. start by checking the tune up stuff, the dist cap the rotor and the plug wires if that is all okay then you will need to remove the upper part of the intake or a good trick is to remove the throttlebody and use a light to look inside, turn the ignition key on but dont start. also before you start to remove the upper intake disconnect the plug to coil to avoid a flase start and fire, after removing the throtlebody look inside for leaking or puddling fuel if thats the problem then remove the upper intake and connect the fuel lines back as you watch to see where the fuel is coming from, you will need to turn key on and off a few times to run fuelpump, hope this helps.

Oily spark plug, changed plugs now car smokes

You changed 6 coils, but you didn't change spark plugs? The new coils give strong spark to burn off resisdues from your old plugs plus what ever left inside the combustion due to bad old coils causing smoke and bad ordor. Change all new spark plugs so you can have good ignition to burn off all junks inside combustion chambers. Smokes are at the beginning, but it will go away after less than 10 minutes.
If it is not going away you may have other problemS:
Rich mixture causing engine check light come on.
Check if engine oil level.
Check if your coolant level.
Open the oil cap to see if you have milky stuff. If there is milky stuff then you have bad head gasket.
Let me know what is coming out so others can learn from your experience. Good luck.

Ignition switch won't turn with key-so won't start

How old is your key? An old key can give you real grief. Also, do you have to press brake to release ignition lock? Its doubtful that a dead battery would cause your car iginition not to turn, but try jumping car with engine off and see if that helps. Unless you heard a loud pop or saw a spark I don't think you messed anything up. Try disconnecting the cigarette lighter when starting and see if that helps too. Check voltage on the battery, should be between 13-15 V or so when car is off. Lower than that and u need to replace battery, even though that won't necessarily solve issue you're having now.
hope this helps

OK, it sounds like the battery is dead flat, or just dead. First thing to check is the voltage on the battery - if it is 12 to 13v it might just need recharging, but if it is a lot less it could be due for replacement.
You should be able to get it running by getting it jump started using cables from another car. When you get the engine running again check that no interior lights stay on after you close the door, and that no audio systems or other electrical items have been left on.

If the battery is more than three years old, it is probably just worn out, but if it is a lot newer, come back with more info and I will try to help you further.

I take it you have a "real" key to get you inside so you can open the hood / bonnet?

Hope this helps a bit to start with. D.
