Question about 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Coupe

1 Answer

Heating in a 2000 Mitsu Eclipse GS wont work

Just recently replaced the engine after a bad head destroyed the old one. Ever since it has not ran right but I've been able to keep it limping along until now. I live in Iowa and today it has been -31 degrees but even after excessive loads on the engine it will not heat the interior. I also replaced the radiator when the engine blew. It has had this problem on nights where it has been really cold before but it would solve itself after a 5-8 mile commute. Now after driving it all day (75+ miles) it still is not heating. The blower fan is working.

The heat system on most vehicles use the same basic technologies, using the hot water that coming from an running engine to produce hot air inside car to keep you warm ....to start please ck if the heater core lines are propely atached to the core outlets , ck if they arent not crossed,ck if they arent not cruched ,plugt ,by passed ,ck the valve for openning and closing propely, ck for a good workin thermostat ,plenty of fluid in the radiator cap sealed no leaks/ make shure the blower fans is working propely.......nicolas.....

Will a 01 eclipse wire harness work for a 03

Possibly, it all depends on the ECU and engine sensors. The only way is to get a workshop manual and check all the connections. Mitsu often change sensors and connectors between years.

Number one piston on top dead centre, is the usual set up on all motors. I cant imagine the Mitsu engineers changing that

Deei just changed my head gaskets on my v-6 eclipse. now i have a oil leak and i have smoking. is it because of a bad seal, on my head gasket

could be, the first thing i would do is get the cyclinder head bolts torqued to right setting.Provided the cyclinder head is not warped ie the engine did not overheat before gasket was replaced? All heads have to be rechecked/retorqued after about 1000mls anyway, adrian,,,,,,,,,,,,

2003 Mitsibushis Eclipse GS won't start?

If the timing belt is broken, chances are you would hear the pistons banging into the open valves as the engine turned over (broken timing belt means cam is not turning, and some valves will be open.).

Please reply what led up to the engine not starting, from the last time that the engine ran.

Help me fixed this car, 2000 Eclipse GS

hey--it could any of the below:
1. low transmission fluid
2. internal transmission wear - probably time for an overhaul or some kind of rebuilding
If the RPMS DON T RISE - like the engine is bogging down and does not have the power to move the car faster I would suspect
1. a lack of fuel supply - like a weak fuel pump or a restriction in the fuel filter 2. restriction in the exhaust system like a catalytic converter or muffler 3. an engine sensor is out of whack - which will require the use of a computer scanner to read the computer memory
