Question about 2004 Scion xB

Batteries keep dying

For the last 6 months, I have had to replace the battery 3 times already. the door locks would not work and the displays would not show. I figured it was an old battery.
Now I'm figuring from the last 2 batteries that there's something draining the battery. Any idea of what it may be?

I have the same problem...this car is a 3rd car...and if we leave it for 4 days it wont start! This started happening after 9 month of owning the new car. Dealership said its because we never drive it...I explained to them we never drive it because it never starts. I want to give the car our son but I am afraid that hes going to get fired if his car doesnt start.

A short somewhere. All shorts can lead to fires, so take it to the dealer or go to a mechanic who does electrical work such as a starter shop.

04 Avalanche 3rd battery in 6 to 8 months wont stay charged???

batteries will self discharge over a period of time especially in cold weather
however 3 batteries replaced in 6 months raises issues
first question is why would they not charge up on a charger or a run in the vehicle
second question is the battery of sufficient size to run the electronics
have you had the alternator bench tested to check for correct out put, regulator operation and rectifier problems
check drive belt condition and tension
the wire could be a ground wire but I would think that if it is significant then something would not be working correctly

I cannot find C240 on your list of models so I have chosen a C230 from that list. It is a 1998 model. One of my 2 keys does not get used very often and for the last 12 months or so the red light on...

Merecedes keys have to "relearn" the car once the batteries either fail/die, or have the batteries removed. The only thing to do is take it to a garage and have them relearn the key for you. It doesn't take too long and shouldn'tcost more then an hours labor.

2002 bravada locked up, system shut down

don't trust the new battrery, have it tested, i went through 4 aftermarket batteries in 6 months, gave up and purchased the factory batt, never had any further issues to this day, Kragen's are the worst.

Programming keyless remote

2003-04 Mazda 6 REMOTE PROGRAMMING

Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.

Step 2: Lock and unlock the driver’s door using the power door lock switch on the door.

Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.

Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.

Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).

Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.

Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.

Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.

Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!

Good Luck.
