Question about 1998 Ford Ranger SuperCab
I have a 1998 ford ranger 4.0l that has intermittent heater/ac
fan problems. Seems that fan will not
come on in any position (low , med, hi) and then it just comes on. Sometimes the fan comes on when the vehicle door is slammed
shut. Where is the problem?
Check the resistor block. It is located under the hood on the passenger side firewall under the fan motor. It has two small screws holding it in place with a wiring plug attached. Clean out corrosion to restore good electrical connections. If cleaning does not restore operation a new resistor block will be required. Weatherproof the outside of the wiring plug to prevent further corrosion and reassemble.
