Thank you for the advice. My husband has tried everything. Now he has the wiring so that both tail lights work but the right blinker stops when I put the brakes on.

Check fuses, and wire connection. Sometimes your connection will get a film on them. Clean them up with a little piece of mild sandpaper.

Tail lights went out, but break lights still work....what is going on???

Bulbs have 2 filaments in them so that one bulb can do the same as two. One filament runs for brake and turn signals the other for the tail lights. You need a set of 1157 bulbs with the flat plastic ends. If new bulbs don't work you may have a wiring or switch problem, but they die at the same time a lot more than people think

99 sunfire no drl and only left highbeam works.replaced the relay and put in new bulbs.low beams work but as soon as i turn on highbeams the right light dosent work

it might the wiring harness. the wiring harness is a common problem for the sunfires. GM nows about this and put out a service bulletin but it is not a recall and is not covered under warranty.

1997 Pontiac Sunfire Rear Signal Light not working

If was working before and now it's not, it's probably the bulb.
to get access to the bulb the tail light must be removed.
the fasteners for the tail light are accessable from inside the trunk behind the carpet.

Left turn signal on dash is on when headlights turn on

check the bulb on the left side of your rear tail light. Try changing the bulb for the tail light. This caused by something crossed on the wiring or putting the wrong bulb in there.

I don't know how many brake lights there are on a 1999 pontiac s

NO! You should have one on both sides with the tail lights. It is a combo bulb, I think a 1157.
