Question about 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2WD

05 chev. silverado LT. Problem is the heater fan all of a sudden

Stays on at all times. When the truck is shut off the fan stays on as well, and drains the battery. I have to disconnect the battery to stop the fan. Help!

The temp sending unit sounds bad....

    sorry bout the sendind unit advice..if your radiator fan stays on it is likely sending unit....sorry bout that. heater fan sounds like the fan switch

    try switching the fan relay with one of your other relays you know is good

The problem is a resistor thats located next to the fan.

Sounds like a relay is staying latched or you have a short to power for the blower motor.

This is due to the fan switch or blower switch, the one in the dash not functioning properly. You need to replace this switch.

Replace the blower resistors/relay. It is one piece, they are made together.

It is the blower motor resistor. it is located under the dash in between the wiring and the blower motor. It is a little hard to remove the attaching screws.Because of the small space to work. But it can be done. It is a small gadget not a resistor as in TV resistor.
