Have to start engine two or three times before it starts.
Chk/replace the fuel filter, clean plugs, and chk the battery connection is clean. Disconnect the battery then chk the wiring connection to the fuel pump by removing and putting back on a couple of times. If not these then could be a wire to a sensor. cheers

If you can not find a Haynes or Chilton Manual for sale in your local parts store, you should check your local library, they may have the manual or repair (shop) manual that you can copy pages from for your use. This way you will have pictures.

Does the jerking feel like a fish bite ( especially when pulling a hill?) if so it may need plugs and wires
if you have one bad plug wire the problem seems to smooth out at higher speeds
Hope this helps

There are no marks on this one. There is a special tool set to align camshafts ($900). The best you can do is to bring #1 cyl to TDC compression with both cam(valve) covers off. #5 cyl should have lobes at equal opening, exhaust just closing and intake just opening.. #1 cyl cam lobes should each be diametrically opposed to the positions of #5. If cams need to be moved, there is no registration of gear onto cam. Just loosen bolt holding gear and move cam. Retighten bolt. Roll thru 2 crank revolutions and check cam timing again.Simple.

Solution: pressure valve in the fuel pump not holding pressure. Replaced fuel pump module assembly which is within the fuel pump. A $400+ repair. Darn Tires Plus had replaced fuel pump two years prior so gave me a 60% discount. Still, shouldnt have to replace FP twice in 3 years.
Did this do the trick?
