Question about 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Went out of town and came back the very next day i had to turn the ignition key several times to get my jeep started. took it to shop and they said the battery was bad, but i realized that after turning the ignition key my gages were not reading on my dash (gas, batt, oil, etc) i believe this is the reason im having problems. the only way i've been able to remotely start it is by keep turning it until the battery dies and somehow that triggers the gages, leave the key turned forward jump it off and it starts right up. what could this be
It may be the shifter interlock switch - jiggle the shifter into and out of Park.
It may also be the Ground/neg battery cable - they corrode at the fenderwell every 2-3 years. Remove from battery and fenderwell, bruch off white powdery corrosion. Reinstall.
