Question about 1997 Pontiac Bonneville
Lockout turned on or off same result, close lid but latch does not engage.
Troubleshooting steps taken: Use key fob you hear the release sound but no movement in latch. Use door release hear the noise but no movement in latch. You can move the latch with your finger so the part is still intact. The latch bar is not broken (the upside down U shaped thing that the latch grabs on to). Key will turn in keyhole, but does not make a difference.
held trunk lid down: pressed key fob, no luck. pressed door release, no luck. tried turning key in key hole STILL NO LUCK.
This is my sister's car and I am not with her but I had her try all that I listed above.
Thanks for your help.
Horn problem is either bad horns or failed clockspring behind steering wheel which is the connection for the airbag and horn buttons.
