SOURCE: location of fuses and relays for the rear window defroster
two locations, one under dash and one under hood. without your manual, thats about all I can help you with
SOURCE: windows have stopped working
First check the fuses if you have not done so. You will need to remove the door panel to get to the driver side window switch, the power for all of the windows enters through the driver side switch. Use a multi meter to determine if power is reaching the switch, if it is not, run a temporary wire from the fuse panel to the switch and see if that will work the windows. If it now works you know the problem is a bad wire. If you are getting power to the switch but not power out the other side you know the switch is bad and must be replaced.
SOURCE: Radiator cooling fan fuse location for Ford Taurus
The cooling fan on a ford car usually does not have a fuse. The cooling fans are controlled by a relay in the power distribution box inside the engine compartment. The box is usually located near the battery. Your owners manual should have a guide showing you what each relay in the box is for.

I'll share my story, it may or may not help you. I bought a used 1992 Mercury Sable and neither of the rear windows rolled down (power windows). It turned out both window motors had died. Did you just get the car? Did they just stop working? It could be a wiring issue...
