SOURCE: gmc sierra 2008 low tire pressure problem

You can follow this to reset it.
Ignition ON, initiate the TPM Learn Mode
using one of the following procedures:

  1. On vehicles equipped with keyless entry, simultaneously press the keyless entry transmitters lock and unlock buttons until a double horn chirp sounds indicating the Learn Mode has been enabled. The left front turn signal will also be illuminated.
  2. On vehicles not equipped with keyless entry, press and release the driver information center (DIC) INFO button until the TIRE LEARN message appears on the DIC display. Press and hold the SET/RESET button until a double horn chirp sounds indicating the Learn Mode has been enabled. The left front turn signal will also be illuminated.
  3. Increase/decrease the tire pressure for 8-10 seconds then wait for a horn chirp. The horn chirp may occur before or up to 30 seconds after the 8-10 second pressure increase/decrease time period has been reached. Once the horn chirp has sounded, the sensor information is learned and the turn signal in the next location to be learned will illuminate.
After the horn chirp has sounded and the right front turn signal is illuminated, repeat step 2 for the remaining 3 sensors in the following order:
    3.1. Right front

    3.2. Right rear

    3.3. Left rear

When the left rear sensor has been learned and a double horn chirp has sounded, the learn process is complete and the RCDLR exits the learn mode.
Ignition OFF, adjust all tires to the recommended pressures

SOURCE: The tire pressure guage is

Some pressure monitor systems won't reset until the car has been driven for a distance at highway speeds.

If the sensor continues to stay on, then you may have a faulty sensor. It will be tricky to diagnose which tire has the faulty sensor though

2008 Lexus ES 350 low tire pressure warning light

1) go to a gas station with an air pump. Unless u have an inflator/compressor at home with the tireattachment

2) lower all 5 air pressures including the spare in the trunk to maybe about 28 PSI

3) now reset the TPMS (on the 07 there is a button to "calibrate" the TPMS and it is located under the dash. I presume it is the same on the 08.)

4) now bring the pressue back up to 30/32 or whatever it says on the door area

If this doesn't work, it is possible u have a defective TPMS
but my bet right now would be that someone "calibrated" the TPMS to the current tire pressure so the light is constantly on. It happened to me before when my daughter was messing around and hit that button.

Hear and feel a clunking noise when the car is turned right at very low speeds or just starting out.

Make sure your tire pressure on the front tires is equal, the same. If they are not, you will get this clunking sound because one tire, that is proper pressure, is going further than the one that isn't. This will cause excessive wear on the CV joints & wheel bearings if it is going on for a long time. If you still have the problem after setting the tire pressures properly, you may have a wheel bearing or CVjoint problem. Hope this info helps! Good luck!

3/2/10 On my 2008 Malibu, about 50% of the time, just after I start the car the "SVC TIRE MONITOR" warning message appears on the info center and the tire icon appears. Most of the time the tire pressure...

If the light that is coming on is the service tire monitor then this has nothing to do with the tires being low it means there is a problem with the tire monitoring system and they should check for codes. The low tire pressure or check tire pressure are if the tires are low and need air. There is a service bulletin on this it is 07-03-16-004B.If they can`t find the problem they should be calling technical assistance for help. This is a support group from general motors that advises them on what steps to take if they can`t find the problem on their own.I have not had any questions here for this concern. But I had a few when I was at the dealership.Hope this helps.Good luck.

How do i reset the low tire pressure light

The only way to reset the low tire pressure light is to fill the tires to the recommended pressure. If all of the tires on the ground are at the proper inflation remember that the spare also has a pressure sensor so you will have to check it also. If one of the tire pressure sensors is damaged from remounting a flat or otherwise it will not send a signal to the low tire pressure module.

Unknown warning light

I suspect this is a low tire indicator, mine drove me nuts when I didn't know what it was till a buddy of mine told me. (my tires did not even look low to me). I would be willing to bet that the company that did your oil change was nice enough to put some air in your tires. Doing so, your light went off for a bit, but the slow leak is now getting low again and you will need to get it patched/plugged/repaired or filled with air again to get the indicator to go back out.
