Check out your heater control valve and make sure it is working properly, also make sure the deflector door for heat and cool is completely closing/opening. Also make sure it is completely full of coolant.

My heater wont heat in 1994 ford escort lx and temp gauge wont move

Cooir its older than my escort ,now you havent stated if its diesel ofr petrol but anyway if one hose is hot and the other is cold then i suspect this older model has a valve/ tap operated by the cable from the control unit so check it out so see if it has one ,if not then disconnect the heater hoses ,collect the antifreeze and then try flushing the heater unit both directions and see if it passes water ?' then gat back to me via this posting and go from their

I put a new thermostat in my 1994 ford escort,and still dont have warm heat while my heater is on. How do I test to see if I have a bad waterpump?

If it where your water pump isthe vehicle would overheat. After you replaced the thermostat do you run the engine at idle with the radiator cap removed until the radiator fan came one? This will help push the air out of the system. There are two other possibilities. 1. The heater core is plugged. Back flushing the heater core may help remove the built up debris and get you heat again. 2. The blend door may not be fully transitioning from cold to hot. You should be ale to hear a district change in how the air sounds when switching from full hot to full cold. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. My S reg ford escort diesel only blows cold air or very luke warm air can you help?

CHECK FOR LOW COOLANT,NOT ENOUGH COOLANT IN THE SYSTEM.IF COOLANT LEVEL OKAY.THERMOSTAT NEED CHANGING STUCK OPEN.IF THERMOSTAT BEEN REPLACED.CHECK BOTH BOTH RADIATOR HOSES AND HEATER CORES HOSES THEY ALL SHOULD BE VERY HOT.IF ALL HOSES HOT AND BOTH HEATER CORES HOSES GOING INTO FIREWALL IS HOT.HEATER DOOR NOT OPEN ALL THE WAY OR STUCK.IF ONE OF THE HEATER HOSES GOING INTO FIREWALL HOT AND OTHER HEATER HOSE COMING OUT OF FIREWALL NOT HOT.MORE LIKELY HEATER CORE PLUGGED NEED TO FLUSH OUT COOLING SYSTEM.FLUSH OUT COOLING SYSTEM IF NOT BEEN DONE IN A LONG WHILE.

I have an 1994 ford escourt wagon LX...i have replaced the thermostat and housing and back flushed the whole system..the air still doesnt blow hot enough air to warm the car up inside..this needs to be...

Even though you already flushed it I will bet the heater core has build up in it. My escort did that and i had to hook a garden hose direct to the heater core and flush it with dawn dish soap both directions several times untill all the slimy old antifreeze inside it finally broke loose and came out. Then it worked great

I changed my thermostat in my ford escort wagon (99) and the heat kinda works now. The rad is full and the res, when I turn the heat off inside and wait then turn it back on its hot but then it gets cold...

When was the last radiator flush?
Radiator need to be back flush every two years or 24,000 miles.
====
The heater core (passenger side / against the firewall) can be clogged.
If you can work on the car at your home or shop then please use the back flush kit below, mustgo_44.jpg
Link HERE to a nice video on how to install this kit and safely flush your cooling system.
