Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

My 1999 GMC Jimmy will not release the shifter. I cannot get it out of park! Is there a sensor in the brakes that can affect this??

Not typically. Honestly, it usually means there is a problem with your transmission and you're looking at repair or replacement depending on how bad the damage inside is. 99% of the time it can be repaired, but it's costly and you're looking at probably $400 minimum.

Look for the cabin air filther in my 2000 gmc jimmy

I'm 99% sure it doesn't have a cabin air filter. I've serviced many Jimmys and similar GM trucks of the same era and never replaced a cabin air filter or seen a reference of one in manuals. What kind of smell are you experiencing? Is it a musty moldy smell or a horrid animal smell?

Remove airbag 99 gmc jimmy

I actually just took mine out today on a 1998 Gmc Jimmy. Its kind of simple now that ive done it. There are four ten millimeter bolts holding the passenger module in. you will need to drop your glovebox down so it is upside down to see these. It is easier if you take it right off. just take a shop light and look at the bottom of the module you will see two silver bolts (the only two ten mm down there) take them out. Then if you look up underneath you will see another up at the top left. To get this out you can hand wrench it or you can use a mini impact with an ajustable extension. to get the next the easiest way I found was to take off the trim aroung your speedometer get in the drivers seat and there is another ten millimeter nut on the top right (right by the vent holes) take that out then you are unbolted. Without going into tons of details when you start doing it you will quickly realsie how to do it it just takes some patience. Dont forget to pull the fuse before you do anything its a 15 amp fuse second row 3rd up in the panel inside the car. Hope this helps
