Hi
If they checked and that is your problem don't clean it change it pay once now and you will not have to pay to clean it and after 2-4 months you will need a new one.

I replaced EGR valve on my 97 Acura 3.0 CL after

I am fixing to change my EGR valve and the piece of paper that came with the part say this:

Important Notice
Before installing this part, check the EGR valve passage in the intake manifold and clear any carbon blockage. Failure to do so will result in repeat malfuntion of the EGR valve system. Refer to a technical service manual or contact a service dealer for proper cleaning procedures.

Hope this helps.

Started with a EGR valve OEM code, cleaned and put it back in, that code is gone. Now having misfire codes on cylinders 1 and 2. Replaced the spark plugs and wires. Could it still be the EGR valve?

Yes it Still Can be the EGR valve Replace it i found one For About 69.00 OEM they normally run for 89-120. Replace it just cleaning it is not enough they go bad especially if its original. and they tend to read same codes when its bad.Hope this Helps.

Can the EGR valve on a 1997 Acura CL 2.2 be cleaned?

Sometimes you can remove them and clean the carbon build up off of them and lubricate it before you reinstall it. Make sure you can find a new gasket before you take it off. Usually you ruin the gasket removing the EGR. Good luck. Please rate me so I know how I'm doing. Thanks.
