Question about 1998 Ford Ranger SuperCab
180k miles, new fuel pump. Used to feel occasional BUMP. Thought it was trany. Seems now to be more electronic. Codes 12 & 11 scanned. Would the cam pos sensor be more likely than the crank sensor? I need this daily driver to keep running. It's getting worse! Dies more frequently lately. Sometimes if I'm on the gas when it starts happening I can get it to keep going. Other times I have to shut off engine and restart. PLEASE HELP!!!! Tough times, can't afford a new ride right now.

Before you encounter this problem do you have problem starting the Jeep?
Crank angle sensor and Idle air control valve are the most common parts failure for 150,000+ miles vehicle.
I would clean the spring,plunger and the interior pathway of the IAC. The IAC is the 4 wire electronic motor that adjust the idle.
Since you has 180K miles,the CAS should be replace.
The .Automatic Shutdown relay (ASD) (Relay #4/inside the fuse box) can be damage also.
Check out these three trouble spots and post a comment.
