Did you check your oil level? Maybe your oil pump stopped working? I wouldn't drive the vehicle till you figure out the problem? I hope you don't have any internal engine damage?

I have 2001 ford ecpedition 4.6 with a code p0306 cylinder #6 miss fire but has a burning smell, why?

Chances are it had oil on it @ some point and it now has a small hairline Crack, the easiest way to Check this is to Spry water on it with a bottle Sprayer. You should notice a missfire @ this point when running the Engine and since it it is a coil the Plastic covering will burn and smell also, Check the Wire's to the Spark plugs as these are Probably the original fault.if the Electrical charge is not getting to the Plug then it backs up in the Coil.which will cause it to over heat and crack

Ford focus 1.6 zitec petrol, engine warning light flashing, engine chugging, very high fuel consumption, fumes smell when stationary, exhaust seems ok, recently change speed sensor and coil pack?

try the air filter first and the intake.the spark plugs then and after all go to a garage for checking compression timing and the head gasket.

Does the 2001 ford focus need special oil when it gets an oil change

The oil recommended for the 2001 Ford Focus is the Motorcraft SAE 5W-20, WSS-M2C153-H, or an equivalent. If you are going to use any other brand, always make sure that it is certified for gasoline engines by the American Petroleum Institue (API). This designation is on the container. And, always, make sure you are purchasing the correct weight of 5W-20. Ford does not recommend any additives.Make sure you get an equally good quality oil filter, too.

Greyish black smoke with a smell of burning oil means only one thing, bad rings on the piston. Major engine rebuild.
