I have a roaring/grinding noise in the front passenger side wheel of a 99 dodge ram 1500 4wd. i checked for play in the wheel and there is none. i also checked the clearance on the dust guard. everything...

sounds like your brakes on that side are metal to metal, tearing up your rotor... when they get this bad, they will make noise all the time and you dont have to be using your brakes for them to grind and roar

What Wheel Bolt patten inchanges with a 96 dodge 4wd pick-up .what other makes (ford ,Jeep etc) inchanges with this wheel

According to http://www.1010tires.com/wheels.asp

The bolt pattern for your dodge is 5 bolt / 139.7

A 1996 Ford F150 Pickup 4WD is the same bolt pattern.

A 1996 GMC Pickup 1500 4WD Extended Cab 4x4 Long Box is not the same, 5 bolt / 127

Check out the link and just enter the make and year then choose the model and it will give u the info.

Transfercase makes loud clanking noise when in 4 wheel low

well, it would be helpfull to know what kind of vehicle you have, but if its a ford it might be normal. all others prob needs new chain. sometime a linkage adjustment will fix. good luck.

Left Wheel Makes Funny Noise...

sounds like wheel bearings or 4wd might be stuck engaged... try cycling 4wd or checking grease packing first.
