Question about 1996 Chevrolet K1500
96 chevy 1/2 ton 4WD with 4.3L. My Oxygen sensors have been a porblem for a long time. I installed a new high flow cat and replaced the O2 sensor behind the the cat. I cleaned the one in front of the cat and cleaned the EGR valve out though I don't think it needed it. With all that my engine light is still on but my OBD II scanner still is reporting no trouble codes and only three of the engine systems test have run properly. In addition, the truck might start rough some times and acts as is it is not getting fuel if I press the throttle. The problem will go a way if I let it run for a minute or so. I havn't notice the bad start up since the new cat and o2 sensors but my fuel milage still sucks. There is a lot going on right now but where can I go from here.
When I had this problem they told me they were not made as well as the factory ones installed. To be honest understand the reason either.
