How to replace 1993 Ford Crown Victoria starter

The starter will be under the car on the passenger side. You will need to raise and support the vehicle. There will be two bolts that hold the starter onto the transmission. Remove those two bolts and lower the starter. You can then remove the positive cable end and the smaller start terminal wire. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

I own a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria, 8 cyl, I am looking for information regarding it's maximum towing capacity

You will not find a towing capacity rating anywhere. Same is true for most sedans by all manufacturers. Working in the towing industry my best advice would be to stay under 3,000lbs. Seeing that the vehicle is 15+ yrs old you are going to want to be as nice to the transmission as possible. I hope this helps!

My stater is just clicking on my 1995 crown victoria whats wrong with it

Well firstly check your battery.

ok with that out the way,
the starter is possibly sticking, this can be cause or worn components such as the bendick or brushes etc. in that case u might have to replace it if you cant get it serviced.

A trick I use is to use a tyre iron or a hammer and bang on the starter with a few pounds. this usually loosens it enough to get the car started!

you have to turn the key to the on position then stick a small object like an 1/8th inch drill bit. or small screw driver in a small hole on the side of the lock cylinder casing and you can slide out the lock cylinder.

How can I get to the top bolts to remove the starter from a 1995 ford crown victoria?

You will have to use a 1/4" wobble extension and slowly work with it. There is no easy way. You can use 3/8 with a longer extension as long as its the wobble type. It has the small groves in it but looks very similar to a regular extension. Mac Tools and Snap-On carry an extension just for those.

How to remove starter from 1995 ford crown victoria

yes they are very difficult to get to.
its just the top one and some mechanics leave them out after starter replacement.
it sounds bad but true.
i use either a stubby 10 mm wrench and a prybar to break it loose,
or a 3/8 ratchet and a wobble extenion and socket. it has to be the perfect length using different extensions to reach and still fit with the ratchet handle at the back of the starter.
sorry but it can be done.....
no stubby wrench, cut one
