Hard starting When starting the 2004 Dodge Stratus it cranks for a while and cuts out before finally starting. After driving a couple hundred miles in hot weather, it acts like it vapor locks and then dies. After it cools off, it will start and run again.

I have a 2004 dodge stratus, and I would like to know how often do you have to do an oil change?

A safe interval is 3,000 miles. You can extend this to 5,000 miles if you are driving on long trips at hiway speeds.

I have a 2004 dodge stratus 2.4 dual overhead cam. When driving down the road, bell goes off, check engine light comes on, and it's like I'm driving on limp mode, when going over 2000 rpm's, there's a severe stutter. After getting code for light it points to cam shaft sensor, which i changed. I also changed crank shaft sensor. After all of this was done, drove great for about 30 miles and the same thing happened all over again. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Sudden release of power while driving at 65 miles

at that high a mileage it could be very likely the trans is starting to fail, have the computer tested for transmission trouble code's (trans is fully electronically shifted and controlled), also it is very unlikely the alignment check is related.

2004 Dodge Stratus with 75K miles - what repairs might I need?

Usually a Major Tune Up would include

  • Replacement of spark plugs & spark plug wires.
  • Replacement of distributor cap, distributor rotor, fuel filter & air filter.
  • Inspection of the fuel system, emission system & ignition system.
  • Adjustment of the dwell, timing, & fuel mixture to OE specs.
Cost to perform all these at a shop will vary greatly, to DIY probably around a couple hundred dollars.
