Question about 1999 Pontiac Grand Am GT

LH mirror removal

My driver's side mirror was broken when I purchased it and held on by three screws. It broke when I went through the car wash. Now it is handing from a wire and I would like to order another one but in the mean time I do not want the current mirror to fall off and damage my car or anyone elses. How can I remove the mirror?

This was relatively easy, I hope reconnecting it will be this easy. Also, when I ordered the replacement mirror, the bolts and nuts are not coming with it, how do I attach it? I can ask on the site also. Again, thank you for your help.

Replace LH outdoor mirror

Mirror is held on by three nut's. Your going to have to remove the inside door panel to get to it and buy extra door panel clips. They brake easy. Good luck.

How do you remove the side mirrors on a 1995 Dodge Stratus

Start by taking off the inside door panel. Screws are located:
Inside the door release handle under the small plastic panel
Inside the door recessed handle under the small plastic panel
Under the speaker grill you will find three screws
On the inside rim closest to the hinge.
I believe that is all the screws, but check again.
Then there is the plastic retainers. They go around the lower perimeter of the door panel. Use a flat head screw driver or panel removal tool. The panel will be held on by the window wipe, push up on the panel. The door release bar is removed by pushing the retainer to the side and pushing the bar out. Remove all the wire connectors from the panel (mirror, lock, speaker, window.) Panel is now off.

There is a wing panel held on by two screws. underneath there may or may not be body plugs. Remove Them. There are three nuts that hold on the mirror. I believe they are 8mm deep well. Push the wire through the membrane.

Reverse to replace.

Removing Lh mirror from 2003 grand caravan es AWD

be very careful removing the mirror from the mirror head (there's a 90% chance it will break). Instead remove the mirror head from the vehicle. remove the door panel. you will see 3 nuts that hold the mirror head on the van. (may have to poke around to find them, behind some foam maybe). the electrical conection you are looking for is in the door follow the wires you'll find it. NOTE: most mirror heads are not ment to be taken apart and fixed but instead the whole mirror head replaced.

The LH (drivers) side mirror replacement

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
