If you have already replaced the fuel filter, the next thing to check is the fuel pressure. GM vortec engines require 60psi or more of fuel pressure to run.

You would get a fuel pressure gauge and hook it up to the valve on the fuel line at the intake manifold if it has one.

The valve usually looks like a tire valve.

Check catalytic converter, could be so clogged it is not allowing exhaust through. Or Fuel Filter since you have done other in between items, should be frame mounted under drivers seat, (on the outside of the vehicle looking up) small silver can size filter between two lines. $10+ and it should be changed every 30000 or so.

SOURCE: sometimes sputters and sometimes just wont start

sounds like a fuel pump problem, one of the times it will not turn over attach a fuel pressure gage to the valve on the fuel line, see if its getting fuel, also if its a cpi injector those go bad all the time as the plastic tubes clog up from heat

SOURCE: 98 gmc sierra sputters and clacks when first accelerating

I wouldn't think it to be a fuel delivery problem anymore. If you could get someone to scan it while the problem occurs maybe you could see if your TPS is dropping out due to a faulty sensor or connector, also you could check for a blocked cat convertor by hooking up a vacuum gauge to the engine or a pressure gauge to the exhaust at 1500rpms should be no more than 1 to 1 1/2 pounds back pressure. Also you could check your magnetic pole piece that is under the rotor in your distributor they are known for the magnet cracking at the rivets.

1991 Alfa Spider Veloce - Had stored car for about a year. Started and ran fine for about 2 miles. Got in the car 3 months later, car smokes, spits out fluid from exhaust. Am draining gas, but also...

Well, I can tell you that white smoke is usually a sign of water being burned in the cylinders and a blueish color smoke is usually a sign of oil being burned. I would drain gas, replace fuel filter, and do an oil/filter change as well but replacing the injectors probably won't do much for you. I would make that one of the last things to do. You may also want to add an additive to help "dry" the fuel system as well.

My 97 chevy astro wont start when cold but well when i spray starting fluid in the intake ive changed every thing in the fuel system including the pump

what is the fuel pressure with key on and engine off? since you mentioned spider injector assembly it has to be a vortec engine that requires 55psi to open the poppet valve in the injectors just to start.

Problems with 93 chevy blazer

Your blazer has central fuel injection (CFI). You said you changed injectors, but your injector in inside the intake manifold, and only has one injector and a "spider" of nylon tubes from the central injector to each intake port. It is common for these spiders to break, causing fuel to leak into the inside of the manifold, and cause problems like you described. The spiders are available as reconditioned and are quite expensive,

You might want to put a fuel pressure gauge on it. I'd change the filter too. Check the condition of all rubber vacuum lines. These are notorious for getting brittle.

You have a leaking injector assembly inside the intake manifold. These trucks had a very common problem with these. You'll need to buy the injector solenoid and tubes, it all comes as an assembly. The top half of the intake needs to be removed to replace it. I've attached a picture that shows the top half off and the injector tubes in question. Some people call this the injector spider as it kind of looks like one. The procedure is somewhat involved but if you google; "4.3 injectors spider repair" I'm sure you'll find many articles documenting it.0781789.jpg

There is a fine mesh screen sock on the pickup tube in the gas tank, replace that. It will collapse and starve the fuel pump, but not all the time.

93 Chevy Blazer S-10 4.3L F.I.

if this is the vortec engine you may want to check to confirm that the injector pot is working. The injector pot is located under the air intake manifold (top half only) & PLEASE BE SURE TO DISCONECT BATTERY FIRST. if you unbolt the top half of the intake manifold you will find the main injector pot otherwise known as the SPIDER. This part does have a history of failing and can be very costly to replace if you purchase it new. most junk yards should be able to find one for you.
