It's on the bottom of the camshaft cover right next to the coil housing. It is what the electrical connector on the drivers side plugs into.

Will crankshaft sensor make 2003 Buick century with 3100 (3.1) engine not crank?

Crank sensor only tells the ignition modual what position the motor is in. If it's not cranking you may have a starter solenoid or starter going bad, bad battery, or other electrical issue, could even be a bad ignition switch.

2000 mercury couger key not picking up modual

The ignition module won't read the key or the module
by the instrument panel may not be working, if
that applies.

Your going to need a dealer or repair shop to scan
the system

A code reader won't do that.

check inside distributor cap for wear and corrosion.in center of cap there is a carbon button that contacts rotor look carefully at that.make sure wires to distributor tight.if looks good remove ignition modual from bottom of distributor(black sorta retangular)most part stores can test it for small fee.those moduals with fail without warning.

if you have no spark remove distributor cap and check rotor and cap contacts.look for white lines going from contacts to hold downs.if looks ok remove ignition modual from inside distributor(littlle black sorta rectangular)most parts stores can test modual for small fee, they are a common failure with no warning.also better of to squirt gas into intake to test starter fluid bad stuff!

Float could be stuck, if it's carbureted or gasket under carb could be loose. Tighten and also put new filter in it. Could be bad injectors, if it's EFI which I doubt knowing the year. Could be choke setting wrong. I like manual choke myself. Try starting it with something holding choke open like a screwdriver handle. Something not too flammable.

Van turns over but will not start

Try spraying some starter fluid down the intake and see if that will help it start. If it does start that tells you that it is a fuel related problem and you can go from there. Let me know what you find out and I will see if I can help some more.

My transmission appears to be slipping from gears

first check the level of the tranny fluid the truck needs to be running and in nutral if you have fluid it is probably the modual, the shift control modual comonly goes out the dealer will tell you you need a new transmission take your truck to a good transmission shop and have them check the modual tighten the bands and flush the transmission I had the same problem and that fixed the problem, the cost was around 350.00 also check to make sure that you dont have any leaks in your tranny lines. hope this helps

This can be caused by the fuel pump going out to. once you lose fuel into the intake it will automatically shut the car down instantly.

Sounds like either the ignition module and or a coil pack is the culprit. I dont remember what year they changed it but if your is the one where the coil packs/module are located on the back of the motor they are a little tricky to get to. You need to remove dog bone mount and replace with a tool that will pull the motor forward so you can gain easier access...good luck. Hopefully yours are right on the top where they should have been since day one... :-)
