Question about 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue

Heater and lights not working

I have a 99 olds intrigue. the heater and lights started going off and on when i hit the rear defroster button. i had a remote start on the car. i had it taken off because everytime i put my foot on the gas it would stop working but if i started with the remote it would work. we changed the heater unit with the switches out for a new one and it only works for a little time. whe we had the remote starte taken out the man said he thought that it was the ingnition switch. but when we took it to a dealer they said to change out the heater unit. what else would it be? we have had this car checked by 4-5 mechanics.

Please help, I have a 99 olds intrigue and I pulled to a red light and it would not go into drive , we stops the car and turned off and it started back and went into gear for a minute then would not go in...

I had the same problem with my Intrigue. It may be a bad spring in the shifter head. It wouldn't engage the shifter when pressing the button. Easy was to find out if thats the problem is locate the pin behind the shifter head, pull it out with a flat head screwdriver and pull it off the shaft. you will see a plastic shaft sticking up from the center of the main shaft. Press that down and try to put it into gear. If it works then you need to replace that shifter head. I bought one for $15 at a junk yard. Hope this helps.

Follow the blower wires. I believe you should find a relay. I suggest testing it as well. Make sure it is good. Also make sure fuse is good and secure. Test your control switches and check all the vacuum lines and wiring

99 Olds Intrigue, blower fan resistor

It will burn out. Air flow in the heater box cools the resistor. These resistors get very hot when the blower is running.
