SOURCE: fuel pump

2004 Cavalier it is in front of the gas tank under the body. If you put the car up on ramps or stands and get under it from the back it is easily visable. You must drop the fuel tank and then replace the pump per instructions that come with the new pump.

SOURCE: need to change spark plugs and fuel filter

What motor is in the 04 Cavalier? If it’s the Eco Tech 4, you need to remove the black cover on top of the engine to access the plugs. Once you remove this cover you will see the coils and the wires for the plug are attached to this cover. Gently remove the plug wires and disconnect the electrical connector from the coils. Set this assembly aside. Using an extension and the correct size spark plug socket. Remove the plugs. With the new plugs check and verify the gap is correct prior to installing the new plugs. One the correct cap has been set, install the new plugs. It is recommend to use a piece of vacuum hose to start the threads on the plugs as to not cross thread the new plugs. One the plugs threads are started use your wrench to tighten the plugs. Do not over tighten as you can strip out the threads. Then reinstall the wires and connect up the coils, reinstall the cover and start the engine. Make sure there is no check engine light and the motor is running correctly.

How to connect the fuel liunes and wherethe fuel lines connect on the fuel pump for 2004 chevy cavalier

Your Cav has Fuel Injection, therefore the electric fuel pump is inside the tank. uel injection units require much more pressure than a manual pump can deliver.

You need to remove the fuel tank form the car, it is held in place by two steel straps and of course the filler neck and the wiring and fuel lines. You do need to have the car as high as poss of the ground and on safety jack stands. You will need a GM fuel line release tool, which you can buy at most auto parts stores like Napa. You will need a helper to lower the tank since there is no way to easily drain it if it is full. BE SAFE, THERE IS AN EXTREME FIRE HAZARD HERE, ALWAYS USE SAFETY STANDS TO SUPPORT THE CAR ONCE RAISED, NEVER A BUMPER JACK OF ANY KIND.

Hello. My 2004 Chevy Cavalier will not stop. All lights on the panel and it even turns over but it won't start.

check if you have fuel.a fuel pump is a common problem on cavalier.get an assistant to hit the bottom of the fuel tank with a rubber hammer while you crank it should fire up.if it does it needs a fuel pump.don't attempt to will die again.

How to change a fuel pump on a cavalier 2002 engine2.2

Check for fuel delivery first.
Have someone turn the key to the ON position (not START) while you listen near the gas tank. You'll hear the pump start for a few seconds. If no sound then check the fuse panel and fuse relay box under the hood for a blown fuse. Always start with checking the easy stuff first!
