Hi...if you can easily push on the belt then replacement of your tensioner is definitely needed. It has one bolt holding it in place and if you look carefully at the arm of the tensioner you should see a square hole that was designed to use either a 3/8" or 1/2" drive ratchet. Determine what size yours is and insert it into the square hole on the tensioner arm to loosen the tension on the serpentine belt to temporarily and partially remove it in order to remove your old tensioner and replace it with the new one. NOTE: You will have to determine which way to set your ratchet to release tension on your serpentine belt...either "Righty = Tighty" or "Lefty = Loosey"! Next bolt on your new tensioner and again use your rachet to release tension in order to get your serpentine belt back on. Just be careful as your new tensioner will have way more spring power! Any questions just ask.

This can only be a loose belt. You need to adjust the tension (Usually done by loosening the altenator and pulling ot outwards before tightening it up again.

You may think it's tight enough, but tha fact is it probably isnt. Carefully undo the tensioning nut, slip a crow bar between the engine and altenator and lever the altenator outwards to a position further than ist is now.

Needless to say, careful where you put the crow bar on the engine and altenator and careful just how tight you make it. This is one of those "how tight do I make it....." "about until you give a little grunt and that's probably about right" moments.

Just tighten it a little more. Lock off the adjustment bolt, start the car and see if the squeal has gone. If yes, good job, if no, then go a little tighter.

It sounds like it needs to be tighten a little. I can remember if this has a belt tensioner or a regular manual tensioner. If it can't be righted as long as the belt is not cracked or damaged you can add a little silicone to both side of the belt. Just a couple of fingertip dabs. This will quit it down. Make sure the engine is off or battery disconnected to avoid injury. Also if this is a self adjusting tensioner that usually is a sign that the spring tension is starting to decrease.

Hi my name is Allen!

Here is how to check your tensioner, with the engine not running, grab the belt and pull on it very hard, you will feel it move toward you let it go and if it return to it original position and you pull on it slightly and it feels tight your tensioner is OK. If the belt it floppy then you need a tensioner.

As for the noise it could be anyone of the pulleys on the front of your engine. You can try to see if they wobble by hand with engine not running, just grab one pulley at a time and see if any of them wobble. If you find one wobbling that part will need to be replaced, not the pulley, but the part behind the pulley.

Let me know what you find?

Engine noise

It could be the tension pully that wears out, Its not easy to check if it is bad, but what it does is, it does not put enough tension on the serpentine belt (spring wears out). that will make it squeal all the time.get it check.
