Locate the gas tank under the bed of the truck (drivers side) and follow the line. You'll see the fuel filter just a little way up from the tank. Mine says "fuel filter" right on it:) If yours doesn't have it printed on there, it'll be a cylindrical part about 3 1/2 to 4 inches long.
Hello oldfarmer877: My name is Roger and I will be glad to help you. Your truck does not have a fuel filter like the older cars and trucks have. The fuel filter for your truck is part of the fuel module inside the fuel tank. To replace the filter would involve removal of the fuel tank. The actual filter is located inside of the fuel pressure regulator. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger
Unfortunatly most dakotas have an inline fuel filter, its located in the gas tank because there not supposed to need regular maintenance or changing. Basically you have to drop your gas tank to get the fuel filter out.
