The reason that the hatch is alarmed is because if the hatch is not secured properly then the vehicle sucks exhaust gas back into the cabin which will put the driver and any one else to sleep from carbon monoxide poisoning. Have a good reason to drive with the hatch open because it will be dangerous if the alarm is disconnected.
I have run into this problem and i found that the switch that operates alarm and inside light is bad, the switch is located on the latch, the latch may need to be removed to replace the switch. some dealers do not sell just the switch, i have run into this problem where switch is not replaceable the complete latch needs to be replaced.
Another problem i have run into is the wiring going into the hatch breaks, the wiring from bendine due to door opening and closing breaks a wire or two due to bending , locate wiring coming into rear hatch and check each wire,
the rear hatch issue is due to a faulty latch assembly or needs adjustment. replace that latch issue should be resolved. but u can access the wiring to it by removing the hatch panel and seperate the connector at the latch assembly , this should turn out the light, and also keep the alarm from going off!! hope that was helpful!!
This could be a simple door adjustment. Have someone sit in the car
while you push in on the hatch. See if the light goes off . If the
light goes off, then adjust the striker plate so the hatch closes
rear hatch is not related i dont think ,if vehicle is fitted with a non factory alarm rip it out they give nothing but problems,If its not fitted with a factory alarm then check wires where they leave the body in rubber trunking and go into door ,especially drivers door as its used most.Try hatch as well if no fault found in drivers door
