If you press and hold the 1&4 or 2&3 buttons together for 6 - 9 seconds a 3 digit number appears (xxx). Hold the AM FM button a second 3 digit number appears (yyy)
Call 1800-537-5140 when recording starts press 106010*xxxyyy* and it will give you your code

please go to the dealer and bring you owner ship paper they will help you with the code .....nicolas......

well it took information from a couple of sites but I finally got it.
the unlock code to the 1997 GMC Jimmy is 1651.
1&4 or 2&3 buttons together for 6 - 9 seconds a 3 digit number appears (xxx). Hold the AM FM button a second 3 digit number appears (yyy). If the number does not change it is the same. The code was 022 in mine. so I called 1800-537-5140 when recording started I pressed 106010# and then 022022* and it gave me the code.
