2001 cadillac catera: oil in coolant?

Had it checked. Had the auxillary coolant pump replaced. Noticed oil in coolant. I know cracked block or blown head gasket.Could it be anything else causing this problem? Have to fill colant every few days.

The Problem, My friend, is a leaking oil cooler. this item is mounted, inside the engine, under the intake manifold. The cooler or the connections are bad. Coolant flows through the cooler, if it brakes then the oil will contaminate your coolant and make a mess.!! Have it checked. Must times is the seals at the pipe to cooler flange connector. will need new seals.. Hope this helps.

Oil in coolant problems on my 2001 cadillac catera?

Sounds like the head-gasket blew and allowed oil into the coolant and coolant into the oil. Unfortunately, it's time for a tear-down and rebuild of the engine.

How would i know if my overheating problem in my 97 Geo Metro Prizm is a radiator, water pump, blown head gasket, cracked head or a thermostat problem. is there some way i can check for this?

Oil and coolant mixed usually means the engine is damaged.
Blown head gasket, or cracked block - head.
You may have coolant in the engine oil too.
I would not drive it.

I have a 2001 Cadillac Catera that the oil light and alarm has been coming on when I come to a stop or slow down after driving the car for about an hour. Had the oil change and that solved it for a few...

It may just be a bad sensor. The pressure could be tested with a mechanical gauge, but the sensor is probably so cheap it's not worth paying a shop to do a diagnostic if you can replace the sensor yourself. If it's not a bad sensor the oil pump may be worn out, or maybe the engine bearings are worn. A thicker oil might buy you some time on it.

Car leaking coolant

First of all ensure that your car is leaking coolant fluid, and what is dripping is not just water condensation from the air conditioner.
If you have a coolant liquid leak, it can be from one of the ducts leading to radiator , from water pump or radiator itself. Check liquid levels, and if you have a leak have the car inspected by a qualified mechanic.
A broken water pump, for example, can cause your motor to blow in few miles.
